Item #10: Ground Troops to Combat Giant, Horrible, Vicious, Insectoid Monsters

Since the dawn of war, the foot-soldier has been the backbone of any armed force and the
usually the element that determines the fate of an armed conflict. I can't help but
imagine, however, that at some point we would probably think of something ever-so-slightly
better.

One option, as we are already capable of traveling in huge metal space ships, at speeds
faster than light, is to construct a robot of some sort, which is faster, stronger and
tougher than a carbon-based life form. Another good idea would be to go the way of the
Zentradi invasion (anyone?) and construct transformable suits of power-armor. Perhaps
we could use a tank or other armored vehicle? Those proved quite effective in the wars of
old.

Considering the fact that our enemy is an enormous insect with gigantic claws, capable of
ripping through our flesh like some sort of barbaric hack-saw, I feel this would be a
pretty good idea. Also, in addition to the lowering of the
brain sucked out by some sort of
phallic, slimy, extremity
statistic for the Army, we could get rid of some of those Bay
Area mothers camped out in front of the Federation's President's house.
